365 Project - Day 247

"Do everything possible on your part to live in peace with everybody." Romans 12:18

I recently shared with a friend that their reaction to a recent event might be more their interpretation of the situation than reality. The other day, a family described an incident that understandably frustrated them. However, I was working on something today and discovered they may be, at least partially, misinformed. The past weeks, I've seen this a bunch. Too much anxiety and discord based on supposition, rather than fact and understanding.

We are a wildly diverse world. That diversity is not just about our outward differences. We come from diverse upbringings and life experiences. Every single one of those experiences impacts how we feel, react and adapt, individually. To me, that's what makes us unique and different. And sometimes that makes truly understanding what's happening immensely challenging. But if we can pause for a moment and think, "people are generally good AND my objective is peace," then discovering that path to peace can be fun and even exciting! Besides, I have found the more difficult the person, the deeper their fears. They are, therefore, in our midst because they need an extra dose of grace from us!

Blessings.

"What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? You desire but do not have ... You do not have because you do not ask God."

"I'll put it as urgently as I can: You must get along with each other. You must learn to be considerate of one another, cultivating a life in common." 1Corinthians 1:10
